The person behind these photos

As a student of the Rudolf Steiner School (Waldorf School) in Helsinki, Nina was given the opportunity to develop her individual skills at a very young age. At later age, she became the creator of anthroposophical photography.

Due to the international nature of her parents and own family, she was taken around the world, which made her familiar with several cultures, languages and nature in many countries.

A significant part of Nina’s active life took place in the USA but, nevertheless, she maintained her ties with the nature of the Northern Europe, with its ever changing and demanding weather conditions.

Horses and other animals have always formed an essential part of her life, and she had the opportunity to photograph her own horses during two decades on her own ranch. This gave rise to an extensive archive of horse images, and her deep connections with nature can also be observed throughout all her works.
